A.C.E.S.S. was established in 2011 to provide Health and Wellbeing in Abertillery.  It was setup following the demise of a Mental Health Drop-in venture, which offered a facility for carers or family members to call in for refreshments and a chat. The original centre was based at the Institute in Abertillery and funded through Age Cymru and Communities First. This funding ended and the group decided to continue, albeit, in a reduced format. They moved to their current venue in the Coffee Bar at Ebenezer Church, Abertillery.

A.C.E.S.S. is a Health and Wellbeing Group with an open drop-in system for carers, ex-carers and anyone, of any age, who would like to join them. They have a core of 10-12 members who attend on a weekly basis. They meet every Monday (except Bank Holidays) between 11.00 and 13.00 for tea, toast and a chat. Once a month they arrange a variety of activities such as Gentle Exercise, Line Dancing, Arts and Crafts and occasionally organise day trips. The Group has received funding from the National Lottery and the local council, but we are mostly self-funding. Our aim is to keep providing health and wellbeing in Abertillery.
